WELCOME to Learn 2 Swim!
Welcome to Learn2Swim's private swimming lessons and water safety instruction! I am a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor with 10 years of both private and public water safety instructional experience. Over the years I have successfully taught hundreds of children to swim and safely enjoy the water. I look forward to teaching you or your child/children. Click here to schedule our first 30 min appointment.

What is taught?
I teach Red Cross water safety, survival swimming, preschool aquatics, as well as beginner through advance swimming- breathing techniques, stroke development, and endurance training of all levels. Basic learn to swim courses focus on achieving comfort and safety in the pool with emphasis on the following: Flotation, strokes, breathing, endurance swimming, pool safety, life safety, introduction to diving and diving games, and how to help others. For more advanced swimmers I teach proper stroke technique and development, diving, and endurance swimming.

Each swimmer learns at a different pace, so the speed of the lessons will depend on how your child grasps the idea of swimming in the water. Let me know what level you would like your child to advance to so that I can work with them at a reasonable pace. Also, please inform me of any previous swim lessons your child has had so that I can evaluate him/her accurately.

I teach in three time frames: 30 min., 45 min., and 60 min. These rates apply for one student. Each additional student is $15.

Cash and check is accepted forms of payment. Checks can be made out to either CASH or Erica Maxwell. For discounted rates, see my PACKAGES page.

Homework:
I work closely with parents and guardians to ensure that all expectations are met. I will talk with you before and after each class about what I have planned and hope to accomplish for the lesson. Homework is an important part of our swimming lessons. If you are the owner of a pool, it is important for you or your child to be in it as much as possible. This ensures that you or your child's skills are kept in check and that swimming is an integrated part of their life. If you have a toddler learning to swim, practice blowing bubbles in the bath tub and inundating their faces with water to get them more comfortable being immersed in water.
