​Swimming is one of the world's best and most natural exercises for the human body. In Miami, large and small bodies of water are rather hard to avoid. Therefore, knowing and understanding how to be in and around water safely is a crucial part of living in the tropics. I have worked with parents who have lost children to drowning accidents. Hearing their horror stories is a testament to the importance of knowing how to swim. My mission is to make sure that you and/or your children are safe in and around the water, that you/they know how to save and help others and themselves in a dangerous situation, and that they enjoy the water. Every person, big and little, learns at their own rate and pace. I structure my lesson plans around my students needs, temperament and parents expectations. 



ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: 

 

I grew up in the Upper East Side of Miami. I have been swimming since I was big enough to walk and have always had a love for the water. I began swimming competitively when I developed a passion for surfing in 2003. The best option to get into surfing shape was to join the water polo team, which I did in the Spring of 2004, and later joined the swim team. I found myself in the water for 2-4 hours everyday and became an American Red Cross Life Guard in the summer of 2005. My job was working at the Miami Country Day Summer Camp, teaching children of all ages how to swim and play in the water safely. The next year, in 2006, I took a position at the Miami Shores Aquatic Center. The following spring I became a certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and I started a business teaching public and private lessons at MSAC and throughout East Miami and Miami Beach. I am an avid PADI certified diver and have had certifications in First Aid, AED, CPR, and Water Safety and Instruction.

 

I currently live in Southern

California and teach swimming part time.
